Overview
Some of the hallmarks of Adrian Smart’s paintings are their soft backgrounds and sharply focused foregrounds- and it is possible that his subject matter, often stunning portraits of birds, is unique. Magnified to sizes far greater than life, the viewer is allowed to see wildlife in all their glory, hyperrealism being the perfect tool to see nuances of nature otherwise lost from a casual glance.
